My husband took me to Seaton, Devon for a couple of nights as a birthday treat. After searching for 5* hotel and not being successful, he came across Mariner's which looked like somewhere nice to stay and had some nice pictures online of rooms and good reviews. During our stay we found Lisa and Dean to be lovely hosts! The B&B was very clean and well thought out. Our ensuite was clean and thoughtfully supplied with bathroom essentials. Both my husband and I felt that the room (no 4), albeit a nice sea view, seemed tired and in need of updating to give the it a fresher look. On entering the room my eyes were immediately drawn to an area of stained carpet which left me feeling underwhelmed. However, the bed was very comfy, and we had a great two nights sleep. Breakfast was good, and the dinning area very cosy. It was also lovely to sit outside and have a drink enjoying the sunshine. On our first night after enjoying a meal out we returned at 10pm, however, with the bar closed and no-one around we were not able to access ice needed for our drinks which we'd bought earlier in the day. There is a small communal fridge in the lobby which the hosts Kindy replenished with bottles of water for guests to help themselves. An idea maybe to put some ice trays in the ice section of the fridge for guests to be able to cool drinks, after the bar closes. We would recommend Mariner's as a place to stay!

I was thoroughly impressed with my stay at the Mariners Hotel in Seaton. The location is unbeatable – directly on the seafront with stunning views over Lyme Bay. It’s perfect for coastal walks or simply relaxing and watching the waves. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, the high-quality beds, and the daily housekeeping. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and thoughtful touches like a welcome tray with tea and coffee made a difference. Breakfast exceeded expectations – freshly cooked, with a good variety, and all dietary needs were accommodated without any fuss. The evening bistro meals were of excellent quality, although it’s worth noting that dinner isn’t served every night – so plan ahead. The hosts, Lisa and Dean, were genuinely friendly and attentive. No artificial hospitality – just honest, down-to-earth care for their guests. All in all, this is a quiet, well-maintained place with a personal touch and great attention to detail. If you’re looking to avoid the typical tourist crowds but still want comfort and quality, Mariners is a top choice.

Stayed for 2 nights for a weekend break, wish I could have stayed longer! Location is superb, with view over beach to the sea. Very close to town centre, five minute walk to Seaton tramway and other attractions. Very quiet in room. Hosts are friendly, chatty, and hard working to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Food is very good, breakfasts are cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a friendly, relaxing seaside break.

Hosts Lisa and Dean were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in an excellent location right across from the beautiful boardwalk and beach (rock beach). We had a sea view from our room and the breeze blowing in was wonderful. There is a bar and the resto accommodates vegan customers. Good selection of beers and the food was very good. Sept 2023

The review by SQ on this platform is definitely a fake review. Read his or hers other reviews, ignore them. We stayed for three nights. We were warmly welcomed by Lisa & Dean. Check in was a quick and necessary action to abide by. Our room was so inviting with lovely bedding, clean and freshly laundered. We had a perfect sea view room looking out onto Lyme Bay. The beach is literally across from The Mariners. The cooked breakfasts were served to our table. Food was well prepared, and the quality of it was enough to tell us it was locally sourced. We had plenty of room from other tables , even so we were able to converse with other guests, swapping tips on where to visit during our stay. We were able to park our car on site, which was a relief. There is a seating and table area at the front of The Mariners where we could, if required, have our food and drinks. Our stay was so pleasant because of the exceptional room we had, also Lisa & Dean and the staff being so welcoming helpful and warm. We will most definitely be returning for a longer stay in 2024. Peter.

Great room with space and two very comfortable beds plus its own en-suite lovely clean and modern bathroom Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit and cereals and then almost any combination you wanted of cooked breakfast to compliment it with - and as much fresh brewed coffee as you like. Had one evening meal and drinks after a long day hiking the SWCP (did I mention it’s right outside the door on the seafront?) - all perfect and topped off with two great owner/hosts in Lisa and Dean

Lovely small hotel right across from the seawall. We didn't score a waterfront room but had a comfy room on the back with plenty of space. Able to open windows and hear the seagulls. It was a tad warm with just a small fan the first night but not too bad. Bed managed to be soft in a comfy way--not in a saggy way. My back felt fine for a nice hike! We arrived late after what was for us Yanks a harrowing drive on tiny roads on tge "wrong" side and without having had dinner, but our amazing hosts kept the bistro open in order to serve us a delicious meal. Thank you SO much. They also serve a nice made to order breakfast! Yum. We could have stayed longer--but in true American style we had oversheduled ourselves!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We stayed over the weekend and our stay was nothing short of perfection. Firstly Lisa and Dean are the most friendly welcoming people. The establishment, our room and bathrooms was extremely clean. Modern fitting including USB charging ports next to the bed. Right on the front the views are beautiful. We stayed with 2 young children 6 & 2 and they accommodated this so well. Perfect little low bed for the toddler and high chair and even children's smaller cutlery for dinning. The food was very nice with a great choice of menu. I would definitely come back again and recommend to anyone considering a visit down to Seaton. Thank you for a lovely stay x
